What the hell?

So I have negative rep and can't view my private messages on here because i don't have permission to access them?
I've never seen a forum site or any site for that matter where you weren't allowed to view your own messages/private messages.
Apparently i've been messaged why but how the hell am i suppose to read it if i'm now allowed to access the page?
Tbh i have what i came here for but i thought i could stick around and make some friends. :/
